Review Ics is an independent ratings analysis of products sold on Whop (paid communities, signal groups, courses and software). This page explains exactly what we measure, where the data comes from and how we earn money.
Where the data comes from
- Whop listing data: name, description, price, rating, number of reviews and member count, read from public Whop pages.
- Public Whop reviews: for listings where we have read them, we count the star mix of the most recent reviews, the exact number of one- and two-star reviews, and how often simple keywords (for example “support” or “refund”) appear. We do not publish, quote or store reviewer names or review text.
- Independent coverage: where we found it, we summarise what other sites and forums say in our own words, label each source (independent, forum, affiliate, seller-owned, news) and link it. These points never affect the rating or score.
The score (1.0 to 5.0)
Every review page shows each component. The total is clamped to 1–5 and shown to one decimal.
- Member rating, 0 to 3.00: the Whop rating rescaled so 3.5 stars scores 0 and 5.0 scores 3 (Whop ratings cluster between 4.5 and 5, so a plain average would not separate listings).
- Evidence volume, 0 to 1.00: the base-10 logarithm of the review count divided by 2.7, capped at 1 (roughly 500 reviews earns full marks).
- Listing transparency, 0 to 0.50: +0.25 if a price is published, +0.25 if the listing has at least three features or a description over 400 characters.
- Value positioning, −0.50 to +0.50: free +0.5; low price for its category +0.3; mid +0.1; high −0.1 if rated 4.6 or more, otherwise −0.4. Price tiers are terciles of the monthly-equivalent price within each category.
Listings with fewer than five reviews are labelled “Unproven”. Labels: 4.5+ Strong pick, 3.8+ Solid, 3.0+ Mixed, otherwise Proceed with caution.
Commission is never an input. Neither is anything we found outside Whop.
Ratings analysis
We compare each rating with the average of other rated listings in the same category, and report percentiles only when at least five peers exist. Unrated listings are excluded from every average.
What we do not do
- We do not buy or test the products, and we cannot verify the results sellers claim.
- We do not invent quotes, ratings or sources. Where data is missing, the page says so.
- We do not call any seller a scam on our own authority. Concerns appear only as reported by named sources, with dates.
- We do not give financial, investment or betting advice.
How the site earns money
Links to Whop carry our affiliate code, so we may earn a commission if you join, at no extra cost to you. That is our only source of income and it never influences ratings or scores. See also our privacy policy.
Corrections
If a number looks wrong or a seller disputes something, email us and we will check it against the source and correct it.
